I am a frequent visitor to the Sharon Rose Wiechens Preserve in the Villages FL. It is one of my favorite places to be during the golden hour of the day. One of the many wonders of nature that never ceases to amaze me is the individual presence and character that each bird brings with them. On this evening, like many times, the preserve was quiet, and the light was golden.

I was standing gazing over the railing, just taking it all in, when I realized a presence behind me. I turned slowly but must have startled a great white egret that was perched on the boardwalk rail behind me. I caught the take off flight of this gorgeous great white egret.

I have always found the graceful presence of these beautiful big shore birds to be astonishing. Therefore, I chose to name this composition the “Presence of Grace.”
