Although as a child, I ran in fear of dragonflies just like bumble bees; as I was told they were called sewing needles and they would stitch up your lips if they landed on you.

It wasn't until I was much older that I realized this was an old wives tale and that sewing needle's were more commonly known as dragonflies.

As an adult I have always been attracted to these beautiful insects and it wasn't until recently that I learned the symbolic meaning behind dragonflies.

These beautiful dragonflies are known around the world to symbolize transformation, maturity and the change in perspective of you.

The dragonfly is also known to bring dreams to reality and like the hummingbird, whom is said to be a messenger of time.

The dragonfly is said to be a messenger of wisdom and enlightenment; with sincere appreciation and understanding to the deeper meanings of life.

It's no wonder why I have been so attracted to these delightful, colorful insects.

On this particular afternoon I sat on the ground and found myself surrounded by green dragonflies.

Later that afternoon when I returned home I read that if you find yourself surrounded by dragonflies it means that loved ones who have passed are near by.

Nature has always been my saving grace, one that I always turn to when I need some quiet time for reflection.

My love of nature, deep feeling of connectivity and my yearning for deeper meanings of life, are all very significant to me.

My life's journey through transformation has been accompanied by nature every step of the way.

One of my all time favorite, deeply moving and profound quotes by Albert Einstein is, “Look deep into Nature, and you will understand everything better.”

That being said like, the circle of life, I feel as though the process of this symbolic artistic creation has come full circle and thus the name for my creation was born, “Look Deep Into Nature.”
