This Fine Art Compostion was created while standing under a pergola in the Forest Park Rose Garden in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Standing underneath this wooden trellis pergola, with the intermingled sun rays illuminating the leaves from behind, casting an iridescent glow was invigorating to say the least.

With it's deep maroonish-purple colored flowers, pod-like fruit and five part leaf system; this beautiful vine is called Akebia quinata.' also known as tlhe 'Chocolate Vine'.

In this extraordinary moment, I was completely surrounded by the beauty of this delicate vine; embraced by the warmth of the afternoon sun and immersed in a sea of wondrous awe.

As I stood underneath this glorious vine, I couldn't help feel grounded by the roots leading into the ground of this fascinating vine.

The intertwining of the coil like tendrils that had gravitated and secured themselves to the wooden structure were speaking to me about connectios.

Like any vine, 'Symbolic in Nature' the vines express connections and are known to be survivors.

Although, delicate in appearance, vines are magnificent in their strength and agility to withstand the fiercest of storms.

And lo and behold, year after year, they return, more beautiful and stronger than the year before.

Their root system and connectivity endure many storms and are tested often, especially throughout the four seasons, here in New England.

So is it any wonder that I was feeling embraced, secure and connected while standing underneath and in the presence of this magnificent beautiful vine.

The Vines, are life like teachers. They are susceptible to the most inhospitable environments and meet challenges on a daily basis. Their will to survive and remain connected is not only strong, it is fierce.

Like humans, the more storms we weather the stronger we become.

This fine art composition is intended to share the message of strength, endurance and connections. It will bring a sense of warmth and beauty to any room; with a gentle reminder that nature is one of our greatest teachers.
